This year's weather broadcast had predicted nice weather for the weekend. We started erecting the station on Friday afternoon in sunny weather and dismantled the station on Sunday in dense fog (what a precise weather forecast).

Conditions on our end seemed to be a little a bit above average and we managed to run high QSO rates in the first hours.
Inspired by the Slovenian live score we enjoyed a real time race with DR9A and OM3KII.

In contrast to other contest the Slovakian guys somehow managed to stay in touch with us which lead us to think that they must have had some enhanced propagation.

Despite the fact that we made more QSOs than the DR9A Black Forest Gang Contest Machinery, their higher average distances per QSO will place us behind them again.
DA0FF’S location being closer to the main activity centers in OK/OM and DL is a geographical disadvantage which usually cannot be overcome by increasing our antenna expenditure.

Some statistics:
Call: DA0FF
Loc: JO40XL
QSOs: 717
Points: 297.030
Average Pts/QSO: 414 km/QSO

Thanks for working us in 2018 !
